HPE Juniper Networking

HPE Juniper Networking EX4400-48MP 48-port multi-gigabit PoE network switch with 4x40G and 4x100G uplinks

SKU CH-N3HM-40NDA

48-port multi-gigabit PoE switch with 4x40G and 4x100G uplinks and Layer 3 routing for enterprise networks

  • Type of switchChassis
  • 48 multi-gigabit PoE ports power and connect diverse devices
  • 4×40 G and 4×100 G uplinks deliver high-capacity bandwidth for growth
  • Layer 3 routing with OSPF, BGP and IPv6 optimises traffic flow
  • ACLs, IP source guard and DHCP snooping harden network security
  • Energy-efficient architecture lowers operational power consumption

48 multi-gigabit PoE ports

The EX4400-48MP provides 48 multi-gigabit PoE ports that supply both data and power to access points, cameras and IP phones. It targets enterprise IT teams building high-density wired networks that need simplified cabling and centralised power management.

4x40G and 4x100G uplinks

Four 40G and four 100G uplinks give the switch abundant aggregation bandwidth so core links stay uncongested as edge traffic grows. Layer 3 routing with OSPF, BGP and IPv6 lets the unit handle inter-VLAN traffic locally, reducing the load on upstream routers.

Advanced security and Layer 3 scale

ACLs, IP source guard and DHCP snooping protect the network edge from spoofing and rogue devices. The chassis architecture supports high-throughput forwarding for data-intensive workloads, while the energy-efficient design keeps operational costs in check. It is not suited for buyers who need only basic Layer 2 switching or who require port counts beyond 48.

Questions about this item

How many multi-gigabit PoE ports are available before uplink capacity becomes the limiting factor under sustained load?

The switch provides 48 multi-gigabit PoE ports for device connectivity and power delivery.

What happens to heat and fan noise when all 48 PoE ports and eight uplinks run continuously?

Energy-efficient architecture reduces power consumption to limit heat output and fan noise during extended operation.

Which uplink transceivers or cables are required to use the 4x40G and 4x100G ports?

The uplinks accept compatible 40G and 100G transceivers or direct-attach cables for high-capacity backbone connections.
