Two-port XFP interface module expands Juniper MX Series Modular Port Concentrators with 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity
The HPE Juniper Networking MIC-3D-2XGE-XFP is a modular interface card that adds two XFP expansion slots to a compatible Modular Port Concentrator. It is designed for data-networking environments that require additional 10GbE physical interfaces. This new module plugs directly into the MPC line card to extend port density.
The card replaces a single-port MIC or a fixed-port line card when the installation needs two independent XFP interfaces on one MPC slot. The jump is worth it when the chassis has free MPC capacity and the network design calls for dual 10GbE links without consuming an additional line-card slot.
Before ordering, confirm that the target MX Series Modular Port Concentrator has an open MIC bay and that the total number of MICs per MPC does not exceed the supported limit. Also ensure that suitable XFP transceivers are on hand for the intended link distances.
