HP LaserJet Pro M428FDN 40 ppm Mono MFP

The HP LaserJet Pro M428FDN is a monochrome multifunction laser printer that prints, copies, scans and faxes. It delivers black output at up to 40 ppm with a 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. A 350-sheet input capacity and automatic duplexing support daily document workflows. Dual-band Wi-Fi enables wireless and mobile printing from various devices.

Suits offices needing fast mono print, scan.

This device suits small workgroups that require a single machine for printing, scanning, copying and faxing at speeds up to 40 ppm. The 50-sheet ADF handles single-sided and two-sided originals. Buyers who need colour output should look elsewhere. Environments requiring a monthly volume well above the 80,000-page duty cycle will need a higher-capacity model.

350-sheet paper capacity with 50-sheet ADF

The combined 350-sheet tray capacity and 50-sheet automatic document feeder determine how much paper the device holds for unattended printing, copying and scanning. This capacity fits typical small-office daily loads. If your workflow regularly demands larger unattended runs, a model with higher input capacity is required.

Questions about this item

Does the W1A29A#BGJ arrive with a starter toner cartridge and 350-sheet tray, or must they be bought separately?

The unit ships with the 350-sheet input tray and a 50-sheet ADF installed; a starter toner cartridge is included so printing can begin immediately.

Should I choose the 350-sheet tray model or a higher-capacity version for 40 ppm mono output?

This model provides a single 350-sheet tray plus the 50-sheet ADF, matching the 40 ppm print and copy speed for typical office volumes.

What does the 40 ppm rating mean when printing duplex on A4?

The 40 ppm figure is the simplex engine speed; automatic duplexing cuts effective throughput roughly in half while still delivering 1200 x 1200 dpi quality.
