Enterprise 14 TB SAS drive for array expansion

This 14 TB internal hard drive uses a 12 Gb/s SAS interface and spins at 7200 rpm in a 3.5 inch form factor. It is built for HPE MSA storage systems that need high-capacity nearline storage. The drive ships new and is identified by part numbers R0Q62A and P13252-001.

Replaces smaller SAS LFF drives in MSA arrays

The jump is worth it when an existing MSA enclosure has free 3.5 inch bays and the workload can use the 14 TB capacity per spindle. It upgrades configurations that previously used lower-capacity 7.2K SAS drives without changing the 12 Gb/s SAS backplane or cabling.

Sustained sequential throughput on 7.2K spindles

Under continuous load the drive delivers steady nearline performance suited to bulk data ingest, backup targets and archival workloads. The 7200 rpm spindle and 12 Gb/s SAS link keep latency predictable during long write sequences across the full 14 TB address space.
