HP MSM720 Wireless LAN Controller

The HPE MSM720 is a Wireless LAN Controller designed for enterprise networking environments. It works with HPE MSM access points to deliver high-performance wireless solutions. The controller scales to 802.11n without requiring hardware replacement. It supports scalable deployments from small to larger installations.

Six-port Gigabit connectivity for network

The unit provides six RJ-45 network ports supporting Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet speeds. This interface connects the controller to the wired network backbone. Virtual Service Communities allow independently configurable QoS, authentication, encryption, and VLAN support. Robust identity- and roles-based user profiles deliver intelligence to the network edge.

Upgrade path for legacy wireless management

This controller replaces older wireless management systems lacking 802.11n scalability. The enhanced architecture supports fast-roaming capabilities across the deployment. Comprehensive security features include internal and external AAA server support. A built-in stateful firewall and per-user VLAN mapping strengthen wireless protection.
