The HPE Instant On 1960 provides 48 RJ-45 ports at 10/100/1000 Mbps plus two 10GBASE-T and two SFP+ 10 GbE uplinks in a 1U rack-mountable chassis. Stackable uplink performance under load

Up to four 1960 switches can be stacked at 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps speeds and managed through a single IP address using local or cloud-managed stacking modes. The twelve 10GBase-T and four SFP+ uplink ports on the aggregation variant keep latency low and throughput consistent when multiple access switches push sustained traffic toward servers or network storage. Fan and thermal design maintains operation from 0 to 40 °C without throttling the 10 GbE links.

Rack installation and common pitfalls

The unit measures 44.25 cm wide, 35.05 cm deep and 4.4 cm high, fitting standard 19-inch racks with included brackets. It weighs 4.4 kg, so two people or a shelf rail kit are recommended for safe mounting. The 100–240 VAC internal supply needs only a C13 cord; no external brick is required. Buyers who need PoE for phones or cameras should choose a PoE model, as this SKU does not supply power over Ethernet.
