Manages up to 32,000 devices with 40 Gbps stateful firewall enforcement and AppRF application visibility

  • Supports 32,000 mobile devices for large-scale Wi-Fi deployments
  • 40 Gbps stateful firewall throughput secures high-speed traffic
  • Eight-core CPU with four threads each delivers 32 virtual CPUs
  • AppRF technology provides per-user application visibility
  • Manages authentication, encryption, VPN and Layer 3 services

Aruba 7205 Wireless LAN Controller

The Aruba 7205 is a mobility controller built for medium-to-large wireless deployments. It handles up to 32,000 connected devices and enforces stateful firewall policies at 40 Gbps. The platform suits organisations that need centralised management for BYOD and 802.11ac environments.

Centralised processing limits and AppRF visibility

The controller uses an eight-core processor with four threads each, providing 32 virtual CPUs for traffic handling. AppRF technology identifies applications by user, including web-based services. Throughput and device capacity are bounded by the 40 Gbps firewall limit and the 32,000-device ceiling.

Rack-mount installation and licensing considerations

The unit fits standard rack infrastructure for data-centre deployment. Initial setup requires controller licensing and firmware alignment with managed access points. Mis-matched firmware versions or insufficient licence counts are the most common deployment issues.
