320 Series Wireless Access Point

The HPE Networking Instant On AP-325Product is a wireless access point built for extremely high-density environments. It delivers 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity with an aggregated data rate of 2.5 Gbps across both bands. The unit supports multi-user MIMO and four spatial streams to serve many devices at once.

Suits high-density deployments.

This access point targets venues where large numbers of clients connect simultaneously, such as auditoriums, lecture halls or open-plan offices. Enhanced ClientMatch and Aruba Beacon technologies steer clients to the best radio and enable location services. Buyers needing only basic coverage for a small number of users should consider simpler hardware.

Fits ceiling or wall mounts with PoE power

The AP integrates into a managed Aruba infrastructure and draws power over Ethernet, removing the need for a local power outlet. It requires a compatible switch or injector that supplies sufficient PoE budget. The dual-radio design frees the 5 GHz band for high-throughput clients while the 2.4 GHz band handles legacy devices.

Questions about this item

Does the AP-325 need a PoE+ injector or switch to power up?

The AP-325 is powered through its Ethernet port, so a PoE+ source such as a compatible injector or switch is required for operation.

Will the AP-325 slow down older 2.4 GHz clients that only reach 800 Mbps?

The AP-325 runs 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios simultaneously, so legacy clients stay on 2.4 GHz at up to 800 Mbps while newer devices use the 5 GHz band at up to 1733 Mbps.

How do I confirm the AP-325 is delivering the full 2.5 Gbps aggregate throughput after setup?

Check the Instant On dashboard for both radios reporting 4 spatial streams and MU-MIMO active, then run a multi-client speed test to see combined throughput approaching 2.5 Gbps.
