HPE Instant On IAP-324 Wireless AP

The HPE Instant On IAP-324 is an 802.11ac wireless access point built for high-density environments. It delivers an aggregated data rate of 2.5 Gbps using 4 spatial streams and MU-MIMO. The 320 series includes ClientMatch and beacon technologies to optimise connectivity in busy spaces.

Suited for dense deployments needing 802.11ac

This access point fits businesses that require high capacity on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with 800 Mbps and 1,733 Mbps maximum rates respectively. It is not for buyers who need a different wireless standard or who require a product outside the 320 series feature set.

Aggregated 2.5 Gbps data rate decides fit

The combined throughput of 2.5 Gbps across both radio bands is the key figure that determines whether this AP matches the performance target. If the required concurrent bandwidth is lower or higher, another model in the range would be more appropriate.

Questions about this item

What network switch or router port speed do I need to feed the IAP-324's 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet link?

Connect the AP to a switch or router port that supports 2.5 Gbit/s operation; a 1 Gbit/s port will limit the wired uplink to 1 Gbit/s.

Will the IAP-324 serve older 802.11n clients on the 2.4 GHz band while newer devices use 802.11ac on 5 GHz?

Yes, the dual-radio design runs 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz simultaneously, so legacy 802.11n devices connect at up to 800 Mbps while 802.11ac clients reach 1733 Mbps on 5 GHz.

How can I verify the IAP-324 is delivering its rated 2.5 Gbps aggregate throughput after installation?

In the Instant On app or web portal, view the dashboard summary showing combined 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz client throughput; the total should approach 2.5 Gbps under load.
