Tri-band Wi-Fi 6E access point

The Aruba AP-655 is a campus-grade wireless access point that operates on three radios with 4x4:4 spatial streams. It delivers Wi-Fi 6E connectivity through internal antennas for high-density environments. The unit is supplied new under part number R7J39A.

Suited for high-density indoor deployments

This model fits organisations that need tri-band 802.11ax coverage across large user populations. It is not intended for installations that require external antenna flexibility or outdoor-rated enclosures. Buyers needing PoE-only power without a separate injector should verify the power method independently.

7.80 Gbit/s aggregate data rate

The published aggregate throughput of 7.80 Gbit/s is the key figure for capacity planning. Match this number to your peak concurrent-client requirements to confirm the AP meets the performance target.

Questions about this item

What ceiling or wall mounting hardware does the AP-655 require?

The AP-655 includes internal antennas and mounts to standard ceiling rails or wall brackets using the integrated mounting brackets supplied in the box.

How is the AP-655 powered and what step is often missed during installation?

It is powered via 802.11ax PoE; the step often missed is ensuring the switch port delivers sufficient PoE+ power before mounting the unit.

When will the internal radios or antennas need replacement on the R7J39A?

The tri-radio 4x4:4 design has no user-serviceable radio modules; the unit is replaced as a whole if a radio fails.
