1.6TB SAS 24Gbps mixed-use SSD

This HPE server accessory provides 1.6TB of storage using a SAS 24Gbps interface in a 2.5-inch small form factor. It is built as a control module for mixed-use workloads requiring balanced read and write performance. The drive fits standard SFF bays in compatible HPE systems.

Suits arrays needing balanced endurance

Administrators who need a single drive for mixed read and write I/O in supported HPE servers will find this unit appropriate. It is not for buyers who require a higher capacity point, a different physical form factor, or an alternative interface protocol. Those needing pure read-optimised or write-intensive endurance ratings should evaluate other options.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 1.6TB SAS 24Gbps drive draw during continuous all-day operation?

The 1.6TB SAS 24Gbps drive is a solid-state control module with no moving parts, so it generates minimal heat and runs silently while drawing only the power supplied through the SAS backplane.

Which server backplane and controller must I already have to install this 2.5in SAS module?

You need a server chassis with a 2.5-inch SAS-24Gbps backplane and a compatible HPE Smart Array or HBA controller that supports mixed-use SSDs.
