Connects QSFP56 and SFP56 network ports at 50 Gbit/s over a 2.13 ft direct-attach cable
This HPE DAC cable connects a QSFP56 port to an SFP56 port at 50 Gbit/s over a 0.65 m passive copper assembly. It is built for short-reach links between switches, servers or storage arrays inside the same rack. The fixed-length design removes the need for separate transceivers and patch cords.
When the connection distance stays within 0.65 m this cable eliminates two transceivers and a fibre patch lead, cutting cost, power draw and insertion loss. The jump is worth it whenever the link budget and rack layout allow a fixed copper reach instead of pluggable optics.
Network teams who need a QSFP56-to-SFP56 breakout for 50 Gbit/s server uplinks or switch interconnects will find the length and connector match convenient. Buyers who need longer reach, active optics or a different connector combination should look at other cable types.
