Watertight twist-lock receptacle rated 20 A, 125/250 V AC with NEMA L14-20R configuration and NEMA 12, 4, 4X-rated Valox housing
The Hubbell HBL2410SW is a 20 A watertight twist-lock receptacle rated for 125/250 V AC single-phase power. It uses a NEMA L14-20R configuration with three poles and four wires. The device suits industrial or outdoor installations that require a secure locking connection. Its gray Valox housing meets NEMA 4, 4X and 12 enclosure ratings.
As a passive wiring device the receptacle generates no audible noise and draws no power of its own. Brass screw terminals provide a reliable electrical path under normal load up to the 20 A rating. The Valox housing resists heat distortion within the specified voltage range. No active cooling or thermal management is required.
The unit features a reinforced nylon locking flip-up cover that shields the contacts when not in use. A safety shroud surrounds the blades to reduce accidental contact. Flush mounting with a single-gang footprint simplifies panel installation. Screw-terminal wiring accepts standard conductors for straightforward termination. The assembly weighs 0.55 lb and measures 4.000 inches in length.

Mount the gray Valox housing flush to the panel using the four screw holes, then torque the brass screw terminals to spec; the step often missed is securing the locking flip-up cover latch so the NEMA 4X seal stays intact.
Inspect the brass contacts and Valox shroud for corrosion or cracking; replace the receptacle if the flip-up cover spring weakens or the NEMA 4X gasket shows compression set that lets moisture past the seal.
The 20 A screw-terminal rating is the first limit; continuous operation at full current will heat the brass contacts and Valox housing until the 125/250 V AC thermal threshold is reached.
