Surface housing for keystone connectors

The Hubbell HSB2W surface housing provides two ports for keystone modules in a white plastic enclosure. It is intended for installers and facility managers who need a low-profile mounting point for data or voice drops on walls or furniture surfaces.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive wiring accessory the housing generates no heat, produces no audible noise and draws no electrical power. Its function is limited to securing and protecting the connectors that are snapped into the two ports.

Included cover options

The package supplies both a snap-fit cover and a screw-secured cover so the installer can choose the retention method that best suits the mounting surface. Compliance with ADA, cUL 1863, RoHS and TIA 606 is built into the moulded part.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the HSB2W surface housing and which step is most often missed?

Fasten the base to the wall, snap the keystone modules into the two ports, then attach the screw cover; the cover screw is the step installers forget.

What part of the HSB2W will need replacement after extended use?

The keystone connectors inserted into the two ports are the wear items; the white plastic housing itself has no moving parts to service.

What limit appears first when the HSB2W is used continuously in a high-traffic area?

Repeated plugging and unplugging of cables into the keystone jacks will degrade the connector contacts before the ADA-compliant housing shows wear.
