IBM 44W3256 Ultraslim Multiburner

The IBM 44W3256 is an 8X SATA Ultraslim enhanced multiburner DVD drive designed for server environments. It reads and writes DVD±R and DVD±RW media in a compact form factor suitable for space-constrained chassis. The drive connects via a standard SATA interface for straightforward integration. This new unit delivers reliable optical media handling for compatible systems.

Ideal for legacy server maintenance

This drive suits technicians maintaining older IBM servers that require a 5.1" ultraslim SATA optical unit for software installs or data recovery. It is not for builders needing a standard half-height drive bay, systems lacking a SATA port, or users who require Blu-ray read or write capability. Buyers wanting higher write speeds or modern media support should look at something else.

Burn a test disc and confirm the drive reports successful completion at 8X speed.
