Limited-Edition Greyhound Coach for Collectors

This 1/87 scale diecast model replicates the MCI D4520 Commuter Coach in authentic Greyhound Lines livery with light blue stripes. Produced as a worldwide limited run of 504 pieces, it arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging. The officially licensed replica is intended for adult collectors and hobby enthusiasts who value licensed accuracy and low production numbers.

1/87 Scale Determines Layout Compatibility

The model is built to 1/87 (HO) scale, measuring approximately 6 inches long, 1.25 inches wide and 1.5 inches high. This fixed ratio decides whether the coach fits a specific model railroad scene, diorama baseboard or display shelf. Buyers working in a different scale such as N or O will find the proportions incompatible with their existing rolling stock and structures.

Display-Ready Detail with Fixed Features

The diecast metal body with plastic parts offers a detailed exterior and real rubber tires, but the model has no openings for interior access. It comfortably serves as a static centrepiece in a Greyhound-themed collection or as a single scenic element on an HO layout. It runs out of utility for anyone needing functional doors, removable panels or a chassis designed for motorisation.

Questions about this item

How does the 1/87 scale translate to actual shelf space for this MCI D4520?

The model measures approximately 6 inches long, 1.25 inches wide and 1.5 inches high, so it fits easily on a standard HO layout or display shelf.

What does the officially licensed Greyhound branding mean for the finish?

It guarantees the blue and light blue stripe livery matches the real MCI D4520 commuter coach exactly as authorised by Greyhound Lines.

Will the 6-inch length and diecast construction require a special mount or base?

No, the model sits on its own real rubber tires and has no openings, so it stands securely on any flat surface without extra hardware.
