Compatible Tray for 3.5-Inch Bay

This tray fits the ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB601M2K-1B mobile rack that mounts in a standard 3.5-inch drive bay. It accepts one M.2 NVMe solid-state drive and secures it for hot-swap operation in server chassis.

Single-Drive M.2 NVMe Support

The caddy holds exactly one M.2 NVMe SSD and presents it to the backplane through the rack's PCIe interface. No adapter or additional bracket is required for the drive to communicate with the host system.

Tool-Less Drive Installation

A sliding latch locks the M.2 module in place without screws, so the drive can be swapped in seconds while the server remains powered on. The tray itself is a spare or replacement part for the original rack assembly.

Questions about this item

How does the 3.5-inch bay fit into a real server build?

The tray is built to slide into a standard external 3.5-inch drive bay, giving you a front-access slot for an M.2 NVMe drive without using an internal motherboard connector.

What interface does the tray pass through to the system?

It carries the M.2 NVMe signal from the drive to the backplane connector of the MB601M2K-1B mobile rack, so the host sees a native PCIe NVMe device.

What physical space and mounting does the tray require?

It occupies one external 3.5-inch bay opening and secures with the rack's built-in latch; no extra brackets or screws are needed for the tray itself.
