Ideal 45-128 Swivel Cable Stripper 3/4 In Od

Ideal 45-128 Swivel Cable Stripper

The Ideal 45-128 is a swivel cable stripper designed for preparing cables with a 3/4 inch outer diameter. It serves technicians and installers who need to remove outer jackets cleanly before termination. The transparent colour allows visual confirmation of the blade position during the stripping process. This tool is intended for professional video and data infrastructure work.

Practical limits of the stripping interface

The tool is built specifically for a 3/4 inch outer diameter, so cables outside this size cannot be processed accurately. The swivel mechanism requires sufficient access space around the cable to rotate fully. Users must verify the cable dimensions match the tool specification before starting. Proposition 65 warnings indicate the presence of chemicals known to California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Installation ease and common issues

Operation is straightforward: clamp the tool onto the cable, rotate using the swivel action, and pull the severed jacket away. The most frequent issue occurs when the cable diameter deviates from 3/4 inch, resulting in incomplete cuts or conductor damage. Dull blades increase the force needed and raise the risk of nicking inner conductors. Regular blade inspection prevents the majority of field problems.
