Home and Office Networking

This Cat5 patch cable connects routers, switches and computers in a typical home or office network. The 25 foot length suits runs between rooms or across a desk without excess slack. Gold plated contacts rated at 50 microns maintain clean signal paths for everyday data tasks.

Thermals and Power

Passive copper construction generates no heat and draws no power, so the cable adds nothing to system thermals or noise. Molded strain relief keeps the conductors within the Cat5 bending radius, preserving signal integrity during normal handling and routing.

Build Integration

Snagless mouldings prevent the RJ45 tabs from catching on adjacent cables or panel openings during installation. The 24 AWG conductors meet FCC Part 68 compliance for telephone network interoperability. Grey jacket colour helps identify the link in a mixed cable bundle.

Questions about this item

How do I install the cable and which step is often missed?

Align the RJ45 tab with the port, push until it clicks, then verify the snagless boot seats flush against the jack so the latch cannot catch on adjacent cables.

What maintenance or replacement will this cable need over time?

Inspect the gold-plated contacts and molded strain relief periodically; replace the cable if the boot cracks, the latch breaks, or corrosion appears on the pins.

What limit appears first during sustained use?

The 24 AWG conductors and Cat5 rating set the practical bandwidth ceiling, so throughput will plateau at the cable’s rated class before heat or length becomes a factor.
