Audio extension cable

This 3.5 mm male-to-female cable extends the reach of portable CD and digital audio players so they can connect to car stereos, sound cards, multimedia speakers, headphones and home stereo systems. The 6-foot length adds flexibility for routing around vehicle interiors or desktop setups. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and maintain signal integrity over time. It is a straightforward link for analogue stereo sources.

Listening setups that need extra cable length

The cable suits anyone who wants to sit further from a stereo input or route a portable player to a fixed jack without moving the source device. Builders who need a balanced connection, digital optical link or microphone pass-through will not find those functions here. Installers requiring in-wall rated jacketing or a right-angle plug should look at a different cable type. It addresses only the simple extension of an unbalanced stereo signal.

6-foot 3.5 mm stereo extension

The single deciding specification is the 6-foot length combined with a 3.5 mm male-to-female stereo layout. If the installation calls for a shorter run, a longer run, a mono connector or a different plug diameter, this cable will not fit the requirement. Gold plating and the lifetime warranty support durability but do not change the core fit. Match the length and connector gender to the job before buying.

Questions about this item

Will the 3.5 mm male plug on this 6-foot extension cable fit the headphone jack on my older portable CD player?

Yes, the 3.5 mm stereo male connector is the standard size used on portable CD players, digital audio players, sound cards and headphones, so it will mate directly with the jack on your older device.

How can I verify the 24k gold-plated contacts are making a solid connection after I plug the cable in?

Play audio through the extension; a clean, noise-free signal with no crackling when the cable moves confirms the gold-plated jack is seated correctly and conducting properly.

Does the package include any adapters for 1/4-inch or RCA inputs, or must I buy those separately?

The box contains only the 6-foot 3.5 mm male-to-female extension cable; 1/4-inch or RCA adapters are not included and would need to be purchased separately if required.
