What this cable does

This 3.3ft DC power extension cord uses an 18AWG pure copper core with 5.5mm×2.5mm barrel connectors. It carries 12V or 36V at up to 10A for CCTV cameras, LED strips, routers, projectors, printers and similar low-voltage devices. Two black PVC-jacketed cables are included.

Who should buy it

Installers who need a short, plug-and-play link between a 5.5mm×2.5mm power supply and a matching device will find it convenient. Buyers whose equipment uses a different barrel size, a locking connector, or a higher current rating should look at something else.

Installation notes

The male and female ends mate directly with no tools required. The most common issue is a loose fit when the device jack tolerances vary, so verify the 5.5mm×2.5mm dimensions on both ends before relying on the connection.

Questions about this item

What connector size must my device already have for this 3.3ft 18AWG extension cord to fit?

Your device needs a 5.5mm × 2.5mm barrel connector; both male and female ends on this cord use that exact interface.

Can I keep my existing 12V power adapter and still run a 24V device through this cable?

The cord is rated for 12V and 36V operation, so a 12V adapter will only deliver 12V; it cannot step voltage up to 24V.

How do I verify the cord is delivering power correctly after I connect it?

The connected device should power on normally; for a 12V setup the cable supports up to 10A (120W) on short runs, and up to 8A (192W) at 24V.
