Handheld Infrared Thermometer
This orange handheld thermometer measures surface temperatures from -58°F to 1022°F using a thermopile sensor accurate to ±1.5%. It is built for cooking, BBQ, pizza ovens, automotive checks and home repairs. The device is not intended for human body temperature readings.
Suited for surface checks only
Buyers who need to measure internal food temperatures or human body temperature should look at a different instrument. The gun works best when the emissivity setting is adjusted between 0.1 and 1.0 to match the material being scanned. A fixed emissivity would limit accuracy across varied surfaces.
Sustained scanning behaviour
The 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio and sub-500 ms response time let the unit deliver repeated readings quickly during extended sessions. The backlit LCD shows MAX, MIN and AVG values from the last scan and powers off after 90 seconds of inactivity to preserve the battery. Continuous trigger pulls keep the display active without delay.

Questions about this item
What emissivity setting do I need to adjust on the thermometer for the surface I am measuring?
Adjust the emissivity between 0.1 and 1.0 on the thermometer to match the surface material for accurate readings.
Can I use the 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio thermometer to measure a pizza oven from the same distance I use for a grill grate?
The 12:1 ratio means the measurement spot grows wider as distance increases; move closer for small targets like a grate, farther for large surfaces like an oven floor.
How do I confirm the thermometer is giving correct readings after I set the emissivity?
Scan the target and check that the display shows MAX, MIN and AVG values updating within the 500 ms response time.
