PCIe Gen5 signal extension
The Innocard EP8102 is a PCIe Gen5 gender changer that converts a dual-port MCIO 38-pin interface to a PCIe x8 connection. It includes an integrated ReDriver, clock buffer and SMBus switch to maintain signal integrity over the supplied 100cm cables. Status LEDs indicate presence, power rails and side-band signal states.
Dual-port MCIO 38P to x8 reach
The adapter handles PCIe 5.0 across eight lanes through two MCIO 38P ports, using the ReDriver and PERST, WAKE and CLKREQ buffers to extend reliable link distance. The 100MHz clock buffer drives longer traces at 100 ohm impedance, while the SMBus expander enables out-of-band reset control for remote ports.
Replaces direct backplane links
This kit replaces a short, direct MCIO-to-PCIe trace when the target device sits beyond standard routing limits. The jump is worth it when cable lengths up to 100cm are required and side-band signals must be buffered without redesigning the host board.

Questions about this item
Will the EP8102 work with a PCIe Gen 4 motherboard slot?
The EP8102 is a PCIe Gen5 gender changer with a ReDriver to extend 8 lanes of PCIe 5.0 signals; it will negotiate down to the host slot speed.
How do I confirm the EP8102 is functioning after connecting it?
Check the LEDs: LED1 green means AIC present, LED2 green means 3.3V AUX ready, LED3 green means 3.3V ready, LED4 and LED5 green off indicate normal PERST# and WAKE# states.
Does the EP8102 package include the MCIO 38P cables or must they be purchased separately?
The supplier title lists 100cm cable x2pcs, so two 100 cm cables are included with the EP8102 adapter.
