Innocard M.2 Golden Edge PCIe Gen 4 ReDriver Adapter
This Innocard adapter converts an OCulink 4i (SFF-8612) connection to an M.2 PCIe 4.0 slot. It targets server builders and HPC integrators who need to attach M.2 storage or accelerator cards to SFF-8612 backplanes in rack, microserver or tower platforms.
Upgrade from passive cabling or Gen 3 links
A built-in PCIe ReDriver extends Gen 4 16 GT/s differential signals, while an integrated 100 MHz clock buffer supports longer traces and cables. The jump is worth it when passive adapters cannot maintain signal integrity across the required distance.
Practical limits of the SFF-8612 4i interface
The adapter complies with PCIe Base Specification Rev 4.0, SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 and OCulink 1.0a. Signal reach is bounded by the ReDriver and clock buffer capabilities; total link budget must account for host, cable and device losses within the Gen 4 specification.

Questions about this item
Does this adapter need an SFF-8612 4i cable to connect to the host?
Yes, the built-in SFF-8612 connector follows the SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 pin-out and carries PCIe Gen 4 signals at 16 GT/s.
Which M.2 signal pins must align with the SFF-8612 side during installation?
The M.2 CLKREQ# ties to SFF-8612 B13 and PWRDIS ties to A9; both pass through bidirectional voltage-level translators on the board.
Will the on-board ReDriver and clock buffer need firmware updates later?
No, they are passive signal-conditioning components; only the host system BIOS or UEFI 2.3.1+ may require updates for PCIe Gen 4 stability.
