Desktop quad-core for LGA 1151 boards

This Intel Core i7-6700 processor runs at a 3.40 GHz base frequency and reaches 4.00 GHz maximum turbo. It delivers four cores and eight threads for mainstream desktop workloads. The unit weighs 0.5000 and measures .250 in each dimension.

Clean-pull unit for upgrade or repair

Suits builders who need a tested replacement for a socket FCLGA1151 system and accept minor cosmetic signs of prior use. Not for buyers who require a factory-sealed processor with the original manufacturer warranty intact.

64 GB maximum memory capacity

The processor supports up to 64 GB of system memory depending on the modules installed. This ceiling determines whether the CPU fits a planned build or if a platform with higher memory support is needed.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel HD Graphics 530 integrated GPU need a separate cooler if I run it continuously?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 shares the processor's thermal solution; no separate cooler is required for the graphics portion alone.

What limits performance first when all four cores sustain 4.00 GHz turbo?

The processor's thermal design and the motherboard's power delivery determine how long all cores hold 4.00 GHz before throttling.

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the 3.40 GHz base clock under all-day load?

Heat output scales with workload; a properly sized cooler keeps temperatures in check and fan noise proportional to the cooling demand.
