Intel D7-P5510 3.84 TB NVMe internal SSD

Enterprise Storage Drive

The Intel D7-P5510 is a 3.84 TB NVMe internal SSD built for server and data-centre workloads. It connects through a PCI Express 4.0 x4 interface in a 2.5-inch form factor. Sequential reads reach 6500 MB/s and writes reach 3400 MB/s. Random 4 KB performance delivers 700000 IOPS read and 170000 IOPS write.

Suited for Write-Intensive Workloads

This drive targets applications that demand sustained write throughput such as logging, caching and database acceleration. It is not intended for desktop PCs or laptops that lack a 2.5-inch U.2 or U.3 bay with PCIe 4.0 x4 wiring. Buyers who need a boot drive only or who require a different physical connector should consider other form factors.

PCIe 4.0 x4 Interface

The single specification that determines compatibility is the PCI Express 4.0 x4 NVMe interface. The host system must provide a matching 2.5-inch slot with four lanes of PCIe 4.0 to achieve the stated 6500 MB/s read and 3400 MB/s write speeds. Without that connection the drive will not operate at its rated performance.
