Cat6 UTP patch cable, 1 ft Orange

This Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair cable carries Ethernet signals between two network devices. Gold-plated contacts and impedance-matched construction support reliable data transfer. Snag-free boots and strain relief protect the connectors during repeated insertion. The bright orange jacket helps identify the link in a busy rack.

Suited for short links between adjacent ports

Installers patching a switch to a patch panel or a desktop to a wall jack over a very short distance will find the 1 ft length convenient. Builders who need longer runs, shielded cable for noisy environments, or pre-made crossover wiring should look at other options.

Length fixed at 1 ft

The cable cannot be shortened or extended without re-termination, so the distance between the two RJ45 endpoints must match this exact measurement. If the required span differs, a different length must be selected.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1 ft orange cable or a longer length for my desk setup?

Choose the 1 ft orange cable when the two devices sit side-by-side on the same shelf; any extra length would just coil up and add clutter.

What does the Cat 6 rating deliver once the cable is plugged into my router and PC?

The Cat 6 rating supports gigabit ethernet speeds and meets the impedance-matched specification for reliable 1 Gbps throughput over the 1 ft run.

How does the unshielded UTP design with RJ45 connectors affect what I can plug it into?

The unshielded UTP build with gold-plated RJ45 male ends fits any standard ethernet port on routers, switches, PCs or NAS devices without requiring shielded jacks.
