1 m OM3 Duplex SC/SC Patch Cable

This one-metre duplex patch cable uses OM3 multimode fibre with 50/125 µm core/cladding and SC UPC connectors on both ends. It is built for interconnect and cross-connect tasks in entrance facilities, telecommunications rooms, data centres and desk-side links. The aqua jacket identifies the OM3 rating at a glance. Bend-insensitive fibre reduces attenuation when the cable is routed around tight corners.

Sustained High-Speed Transmission

OM3 multimode fibre supports 10 GbE over short to medium distances and is optimised for 40 GbE and 100 GbE in data-centre environments. Low signal loss and high bandwidth maintain stable throughput during continuous heavy traffic rather than only in brief bursts. UPC polishing on the SC ferrules improves return loss, helping preserve signal integrity over extended operating periods. Corning ultra-pure glass contributes to consistent attenuation performance.

Practical Limits of OM3 Multimode

The OM3 standard reaches its distance ceiling at 100 m for 10 GbE and at shorter spans for 40 GbE and 100 GbE, so this cable is not suited for long-haul campus or metro links. Single-mode infrastructure is required beyond those ranges. The duplex SC interface occupies two panel ports and does not fit LC-density patch panels. Buyers needing higher port density or longer reach should plan a different fibre type and connector format.
