Four-Port Dual-View Secure KVM

The IOGEAR GCS1424TAA4C is a four-port KVM switch that supports dual DisplayPort video outputs for each connected system. It includes integrated audio switching and Common Access Card (CAC) reader support for secure environments. This unit is built for operators who must control multiple classified or sensitive computers from a single console.

Replaces Basic Multi-Port Switches

Standard KVMs without video isolation or CAC support cannot meet strict security mandates. The jump is justified when a workspace handles separate security domains that require hardware-enforced data separation. It upgrades from single-view or non-secure switches where audio and smart-card peripherals must also be switched safely.

Handles Four Dual-Display Workstations

The switch comfortably manages four computers, each driving two DisplayPort monitors alongside audio and CAC devices. It runs out when a fifth system needs access or when a connected computer requires video interfaces other than DisplayPort. Additional consoles or video formats would require a different solution.

Questions about this item

What rack depth and cable clearance does the GCS1424TAA4C need for its four DisplayPort and audio connections?

The switch is a 1U rack-mount unit; allow enough depth for the chassis plus the bend radius of four DisplayPort cables and the audio leads.

Which cables must be seated before powering on the GCS1424TAA4C to avoid a no-signal condition?

Connect all DisplayPort and USB cables to the target computers first, then attach the console monitor, keyboard and mouse, and finally apply power to the switch.

What component should be checked first if the CAC reader on the GCS1424TAA4C stops responding?

Verify the CAC reader’s USB connection at the console port and confirm the smart-card driver is active on the selected computer.
