What this switch does

The IOGEAR GCS1942H is a two-port HDMI KVMP switch built for users who operate two computers from a single keyboard, mouse, monitor and audio setup. It targets professionals and enthusiasts who need 4K dual-view capability without re-cabling their peripherals.

Practical limits of the HDMI interface

The switch passes 4K video over HDMI and provides a USB 3.0 hub for shared devices. Bandwidth is constrained by the HDMI link, so very high refresh rates at 4K may not be supported. Audio switching follows the active video channel automatically.

The spec that decides fit

Push-button PC selection is the only switching method provided. Buyers who require hot-key, IR remote or software-based switching will need a different model. The unit measures 13.2 in x 6.3 in x 1.7 in and weighs 3.425 kilograms.
