Share one VGA monitor, USB keyboard, mouse, speakers and microphone between two computers with push-button switching and 2.1 stereo audio support
The IOGEAR GCS72U lets a single USB keyboard, USB mouse and VGA monitor control two computers. A wired push-button remote handles switching, so you can separate an Internet machine from an intranet machine with one click. No drivers or external power supply are required, and the unit works with Windows, Mac and Sun platforms out of the box.
The switch uses 3-foot moulded-in cables that carry USB and VGA signals permanently attached to the unit. Because there are no detachable cables or software layers, the connection remains stable during long sessions and the switching action stays consistent without latency spikes or re-enumeration delays. The hardware-only design means reliability does not depend on host drivers or background services.
With no active cooling or external power brick, the device runs silently and draws all necessary power from the USB bus. It also passes 2.1 stereo audio and a microphone channel through the same switch, so speakers and a headset stay connected to the active computer without extra cabling. Heat output is negligible in normal desktop use.

No, it draws power from the USB ports of the two connected computers so no separate supply is required.
The unit includes two 3-foot moulded-in KVM cables with USB and VGA ends; you only need your existing VGA monitor, USB keyboard and USB mouse.
Yes, the switch supports DDC2B Plug-n-Play so any VGA display capable of 2048 x 1536 will operate at that resolution.
