Portable sheetfed scanner for mobile users

The IRIS IRIScan Express 4 is a compact sheetfed scanner built for people who need to digitise documents while travelling or working at a small desk. It accepts A4 and Letter sheets plus smaller media such as business cards and photos. Power and data run over a single USB connection so no external adapter is required.

One-touch automation and OCR software

A programmable button on the device launches up to nine custom scan workflows that you configure in the supplied application. The bundle includes OCR software for Windows and Mac that converts scans into searchable PDFs or editable Word and Excel files. Automatic size detection, cropping and rotation handle mixed batches without manual intervention.

Handles everyday volumes up to A4 size

At 300 dpi the unit captures eight pages per minute in both colour and monochrome, with selectable resolutions of 300, 600 and 1200 dpi for finer detail. The sheetfed path processes single sheets up to 8.27 by 11.69 inches. It is not suited for high-volume archive jobs, bound books or fragile originals that cannot pass through rollers.

Questions about this item

How often should the calibration sheet be used to keep scans accurate?

Run the calibration sheet whenever colours drift or edges skew; the sheet is included in the box for this purpose.

At 8 pages per minute, does the feeder overheat during long batches?

The CIS sensor runs cool and the 0.84 lb chassis has no fan, so multi-page jobs at rated speed stay within thermal limits.

How much power does the USB port need to supply when scanning all day?

The scanner draws all power from a single USB connection; no external adapter is required for continuous operation.
