This aluminium rack converts two standard 5.25″ drive bays into three removable 3.5″ trayless slots. It accepts SAS I/II/III and SATA I/II/III hard drives and is aimed at server builders who need dense, front-accessible storage without tools. 12 Gb/s ceiling set by the backplane

The internal backplane supports up to 12 Gb/s per drive, so actual throughput will not exceed that limit even with faster SAS III or SATA III media. Cable routing and controller choice determine realised speed; the rack itself adds no protocol overhead but cannot overcome the 12 Gb/s electrical ceiling. All-aluminium chassis with a single 70 mm fan

Front bezel, handle and main chassis are aluminium, providing structural rigidity and passive heat spreading for the drives.
