The iStarUSA BPU-230SATA-BLK converts two standard 5.25in drive bays into three hot-swap trays for 3.5in SAS and SATA hard drives. It is designed for servers or workstations that need removable storage without opening the chassis. The backplane delivers up to 6.0 Gb/s transfer rates for each installed drive. An 80mm fan with a speed control switch provides active cooling across all bays.

Compatibility Check

Verify that your chassis has two adjacent 5.25in bays with enough depth for the cage and its rear connectors. Confirm your host bus adapter or RAID controller supports SAS I/II and SATA I/II/III drives at 6.0 Gb/s. The unit requires an external RAID controller for RAID 0, 1, 1+0 or 5 configurations. Power and data cables for three drives must be routed to the backplane before installation.
