Connects internal mini SAS devices with a straight-through cable for server storage links
The iStarUSA cAGE-AAMMMI-H is a straight-through internal mini SAS cable that connects two mini SAS ports inside a server chassis. It is built for administrators wiring drive backplanes, RAID controllers or HBA cards in rack-mount or tower systems.
The cable carries only electrical signals, so it adds no heat and draws no power of its own. With no active components it makes no noise, leaving the system’s existing airflow and power budget unchanged.
The assembly fits standard drive cages and controller brackets without adapters. It frees internal routing space by replacing bulkier harnesses, but builders needing external ports or a different lane count will need a separate cable.
Measured against everything we stock in Drive Cages & Server Add-Ons, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Match the keyed mini SAS connectors to the ports on both the backplane and the RAID controller, then push straight in until the latch clicks; the step often missed is not seating the latch fully, which causes intermittent detection.
The cable itself has no moving parts or wear items; inspect the connectors for dust or bent pins during server maintenance and replace the cable only if the latch breaks or signal errors appear.
The signal integrity of the SAS link is the first limit; excessive length, tight bends or connector contamination will raise the bit error rate before any thermal or mechanical limit is reached.
