Compact 4U Rackmount Chassis

The iStarUSA D-400SEA-SL-RAIL24 is a 4U server chassis with a silver aluminium front bezel and black 1.2mm SECC steel body. It fits standard 19-inch racks and includes a 20-inch sliding rail kit for straightforward installation. The unit suits small-business servers, remote-office appliances or test-lab nodes that need a tidy rack footprint.

Drive capacity and cooling headroom

Four 5.25-inch bays, one external 3.5-inch bay and two internal 3.5-inch bays provide room for mixed optical, backup and OS drives. Standard cooling uses one 120mm and one 80mm fan, with an optional second 80mm fan for higher thermal loads. The seven expansion slots support full-height add-in cards such as RAID controllers or extra NICs.

Front-panel access and optional upgrades

Two front USB 2.0 ports give immediate keyboard, media or diagnostic access without opening the rack. A lockable aluminium bezel secures the drive bays and switches. The optional BPU-230 cage converts the external 3.5-inch bay into a two-to-three-drive hot-swap module, and a sensor board enables temperature and fan-speed readouts on the front LEDs.

Questions about this item

Will the 20" sliding rails fit my existing 4U cabinet depth?

The included rails are 20 inches long and mount in a standard 19-inch rack; verify your cabinet's internal depth before installing.

How do I confirm the 120 mm and 80 mm fans are spinning after power-up?

Watch the front-panel fan and temperature LEDs; they illuminate when the optional TC-ISF08 sensor board is installed and the fans are running.

Which drive cages and power supplies come pre-installed in the chassis?

The unit ships with one external 3.5" bay, two internal 3.5" bays, four 5.25" bays, and supports PS2 or mini-redundant PSUs — none are included.
