Drive-bay converter for 5.25-inch slots

The iStarUSA T-7M1HD-SILVER fits a single 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drive into a standard 5.25-inch bay. It supports SAS I, II and III plus SATA I, II and III without master or slave configuration. An aluminium chassis and handle provide structural rigidity and heat dissipation. A built-in 80 mm blower fan moves air directly across the installed drive.

Replaces fixed internal cages

The unit removes the need for a dedicated 3.5-inch hot-swap cage when only one drive requires front access. It is worth the change when a server or workstation has spare 5.25-inch bays but no free 3.5-inch hot-swap slots. The tray accepts drives up to 14 TB capacity and delivers a 12 Gb/s link speed for both SAS and SATA protocols. Builders who need multiple simultaneous hot-swap bays should look elsewhere.
