Compact 9U server rack

The iStarUSA WD-960 is a 9U steel enclosure built for countertop or under-desk placement. It suits small offices, home labs or edge sites that need a few rackmount devices without a full-height cabinet. Casters make it easy to move between workstations. The black SPCC 2.0mm finish fits unobtrusively into shared spaces.

23-inch depth limit

Only chassis 23 inches deep or less will fit inside this rack. Deeper servers, storage arrays or GPU-heavy nodes exceed the usable space and cannot be mounted. Measure your equipment before buying; the specification is absolute and cannot be extended.

Steady thermal performance

The open-frame design relies on room air-conditioning for continuous cooling rather than built-in fans. Under sustained load, component temperatures track ambient conditions, so the room must provide adequate airflow. Short bursts are handled easily, but prolonged heavy workloads need a properly cooled environment.

Questions about this item

How much equipment can a 9U rack actually hold in a real setup?

The WD-960 provides 9U of vertical mounting space and supports chassis up to 23 inches deep, with a total weight capacity of 220 lbs.

What does the 600 mm depth specification cap in practice?

The 600 mm (23.6 inch) overall depth limits installed equipment to 23 inches or less, leaving room for cable management at the rear.

What clearance does the 20 by 22.3 inch footprint need on a countertop or under a desk?

The unit measures 20.00 inches wide by 22.30 inches deep, so allow at least that much flat surface plus space for the casters to swivel.
