6U Retro Rackmount Cabinet

The iStarUSA WRT-645 is a 6U cabinet designed for rackmount chassis up to 17 inches deep. Its steel body, wood and brass decoration, and genuine leather corner guards suit creative workspaces or home offices that value a vintage aesthetic alongside equipment protection.

Leather Handles and Corner Guards

The stitched leather handles give a firm grip when sliding the unit on a shelf, while the leather corner guards absorb impact during moves. Brass accents and wood panels add visual warmth without affecting structural strength, and non-scratch feet keep desk surfaces unmarked.

Simple Placement on Any Flat Surface

No tools are required — the cabinet rests on its discreet feet and accepts equipment through the open front. Tapped M5 holes are provided for audio or video gear, but the unit lacks built-in rails, forced-air cooling, or cable-management features, so installers must plan airflow and cable routing separately.

Questions about this item

Will the leather corner guards on the WRT-645 need conditioning or replacement over time?

Genuine leather corner guards may dry or scuff with heavy handling; occasional leather conditioner keeps them supple and protects the brass decoration.

What chassis depth limit stops me from fitting deeper gear in this 6U cabinet?

Supported chassis depth is 17 inches and under; equipment deeper than 450 mm will not mount on the M5 tapped rails.

Does the all-metal body get hot or noisy when equipment runs continuously inside the 20.00 x 24.40 x 17.70 inch enclosure?

The cabinet itself has no fans or power supply, so it adds no noise or heat; thermal load depends entirely on the installed chassis and its cooling.
