Secure Portable SSD for Sensitive Data

The iStorage diskAshur M2 is a 240GB hardware-encrypted portable SSD that uses a 7-15 digit PIN for authentication. It connects via USB 3.2 and delivers sequential read and write speeds up to 370 MBps. AES-XTS 256-bit encryption activates automatically when the drive is disconnected, with no software installation required.

Suited for Mobile Professionals Requiring

This drive fits users who need FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validated security and physical ruggedness certified to IP68, 4m drop survival, and 2.7 ton crush resistance. Independent Admin and User PINs plus a one-time recovery PIN support managed deployment. It is not for buyers who need capacities above 240GB or who prefer software-only encryption without a physical keypad.

Hardware Encryption with Common Criteria EAL 5+

The integrated secure microprocessor holds Common Criteria EAL 5+ hardware certification and provides brute-force protection against unauthorised access attempts. A read-only write-protect mode adds an extra layer of data integrity when enabled. This certified hardware root of trust is the decisive factor for regulated environments.

Questions about this item

Which capacity should I pick between 128 GB, 240 GB and larger options?

The 240 GB model shown here gives you 240 GB of usable space; choose a higher capacity only if you need more room for encrypted files.

What do the 370 MB/s read and write speeds mean when I plug the drive into my laptop?

You can expect up to 370 MB/s sequential transfers on a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port; actual throughput depends on the host controller and file sizes.

The spec says USB 3.2 — what version is that and what speed ceiling does it impose?

USB 3.2 Gen 1 caps the interface at 5 Gbps, so the drive’s 370 MB/s peak fits well within that limit.
