DisplayPort to HDMI 6 ft cable

This 6 ft cable connects a DisplayPort-equipped computer to an HDMI display such as a monitor, HDTV or projector. It carries both video and audio in a single male-to-male cord. The built-in active converter chip handles the signal translation from DisplayPort to HDMI. The cable is uni-directional and cannot send video from an HDMI source to a DisplayPort screen.

Limited to 1080p resolution

Video output tops out at 1080p, so higher-resolution panels will not show their native detail. Audio passes through uncompressed in 7.1, 5.1 or 2-channel formats. The active IC draws power from the DisplayPort source, so no external adapter is required. Gold-plated connectors and foil-plus-braid shielding aim to reduce signal loss over the 6 ft run.

Check your source has DisplayPort

Verify the computer or graphics card provides a standard DisplayPort output, not Mini DisplayPort or USB-C alt-mode. The display must accept an HDMI input. Because the converter is one-way, it will not work for an HDMI laptop driving a DisplayPort monitor. The latching DisplayPort plug needs clearance for the release button.
