Professional Audio Capture

The Countryman B2D is a directional lavalier microphone built for professional recordings and broadcasts. Its hypercardioid polar pattern focuses on the speaker's voice while reducing background noise. The tan finish and compact form factor keep the microphone virtually invisible during presentations or performances. It connects to Shure wireless transmitters via a detachable TA4F connector cable.

Detachable Connector and Build

The detachable TA4F connector cable provides a secure link to Shure wireless transmitters and allows the microphone to interface with different wireless systems or XLR inputs. This design suits rental companies and consultants working across multiple venues. The cable is aramid-reinforced for durability in demanding environments. Vibration isolating clips minimise clothing noise and allow 360 degree rotation for precise positioning.

Directional Pattern Constraints

The tight hypercardioid pattern provides an extra 10 dB of headroom compared to an omni lavalier, reducing feedback and ambient noise issues. This directionality requires consistent positioning relative to the sound source for optimal isolation. Users needing to capture sound from multiple directions or wide pickup angles will find the pattern restrictive. The standard W4 gain setting suits typical speech applications.
