HDMI EDID and HDCP emulator with 8 predefined modes, 4K 60Hz support and USB-C power option
The J-Tech Digital HDMI EDID Emulator Manager resolves HDCP and EDID mismatches between source devices and displays. It provides eight predefined EDID modes and accepts a user-defined EDID uploaded through the USB-C port. A DIP switch controls HDCP conversion from 2.2 down to 1.4. Installers and integrators use it to stabilise handshake issues in residential and commercial AV systems.
The unit draws power directly from the HDMI source or the USB-C connector, eliminating external adapters. Passive operation means no fan noise and no measurable heat output during normal use. Power consumption stays within the limits of the host HDMI or USB-C port. The compact black enclosure fits behind equipment without adding thermal load to the rack.
No cables are included in the package. The USB-C port serves both as a power input and as the interface for uploading a custom EDID file from a computer. A CEC toggle switch lets the installer enable or disable CEC pass-through for control-system compatibility. The DIP switch and toggle provide hardware-level configuration without any software installation.

Connect the unit between source and display using HDMI cables, then power it via the HDMI link or the USB-C port; the step most people miss is setting the DIP switches for the desired EDID mode and HDCP conversion before powering on.
The device has no moving parts or consumable components; it requires no scheduled maintenance and only needs replacement if the HDMI ports or USB-C power input suffer physical damage.
The 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 bandwidth ceiling is the first hard limit; sustained 4K 60 Hz signals cannot exceed this throughput, and the auto-downscaling feature activates only when the source requests a higher format.
