Five-String Concert Bass

The Jackson X Series Concert Bass CBXNT DX V is a 5-string electric bass built for players who need extended low range and versatile tone. Its poplar body and graphite-reinforced neck-through construction deliver sustain and stability for stage and studio work. The active three-band EQ lets you shape frequencies precisely across rock, metal, and fusion styles.

Active Electronics Requirement

This instrument requires a 9 V battery to power the onboard preamp and three-band EQ circuit. Verify your amplifier or pedalboard input can handle an active signal level without unwanted compression. Ensure you have a spare battery available for long sessions, as the preamp will not function without power.

Neck-Through Build and Hardware

The neck-through-body design with graphite reinforcement resists warping and keeps the instrument intonated over time. Sealed die-cast tuning machines hold pitch reliably during aggressive playing. The hardtail bridge anchors strings solidly, transferring vibration efficiently into the body for consistent sustain and tuning stability.

Questions about this item

Does the bass ship with a case or strap, or do I need to buy them separately?

The instrument itself is supplied new; a gig-bag, hard case and strap are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which scale length suits my playing — the 34-inch or the 35-inch version?

This model is built with a 35-inch scale, giving the low B string extra tension and clarity compared with a 34-inch design.

How does the 35-inch scale affect the feel of the low B string on stage?

The longer scale keeps the low B tight and articulate, reducing floppiness so fast metal lines stay defined even at high volume.
