Flagship floorstanding speaker pair

The Jamo Studio Series S 809 is a pair of floorstanding home audio speakers designed as the flagship model in the lineup. Each tower features three 127mm aluminized polyfiber woofers and a 25mm soft dome tweeter. Integrated WaveGuide technology focuses high frequencies for dynamic audio reproduction. A front-firing tube port extends low-frequency response and allows flexible room placement.

Home cinema enthusiasts seeking Dolby Atmos

These speakers suit listeners who want an immersive Dolby Atmos experience with patent-pending top connection points for the S 8 ATM topper module. The premium cabinet design with elegant metal fasteners appeals to buyers who value modern industrial aesthetics. Buyers needing compact bookshelf speakers or a system without overhead channel expansion should consider other form factors.

Build around amplification and optional toppers

The passive towers require an external amplifier or AV receiver with sufficient power for three woofers and a tweeter per cabinet. The front-firing port eases placement near walls while maintaining bass performance. Adding the S 8 ATM topper modules unlocks the full Dolby Atmos height effect through the dedicated top connectors. Ensure your processor supports Atmos decoding to use the height channels.

Questions about this item

What amplifier power rating matches the S 809 speakers?

The S 809 floorstanding speakers work with a wide range of stereo amplifiers or AV receivers; choose a model rated for 4‑8 ohm loads and enough clean watts for your room size.

Can I keep my existing bookshelf speakers as surrounds with the S 809 pair?

Yes, the S 809 towers handle front left and right channels while your current bookshelf models serve as surround or height speakers in a multi‑channel system.

How do I verify the Dolby Atmos topper is connected correctly on the S 809?

Play Atmos‑encoded content; you should hear distinct overhead effects like rain or aircraft moving above the listening position, confirming the patented top‑mount connection is active.
