What it does

The Jansicotek unit converts digital audio from Bluetooth 5.0, USB storage or SPDIF optical sources into analogue stereo through RCA and 3.5mm outputs. A built-in headphone amplifier delivers 125mW per channel into 32ohm loads, so listeners can plug in directly without a separate amp.

Deciding spec

The DAC supports sampling rates of 32, 44.1, 48, 96 and 192KHz at 24bit depth over optical and coaxial inputs, and only accepts PCM or LPCM formats. If your source outputs Dolby Digital, DTS or multichannel bitstreams, this converter will not decode them.

Build fit

Power comes from the included USB cable, so a spare USB port or 5V charger is required. The front-panel volume knob controls both line and headphone levels simultaneously, freeing you from hunting for a remote, though an IR handset is also supplied for distance adjustments.
