What this cable does

The Jansicotek 4FT USB C to USB C cable supports Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 hosts. It delivers data transfer up to 40Gbps and power delivery up to 240W at 48V/5A. A single cable can drive one 8K or 5K display at 60Hz or dual 4K displays at 60Hz. Colour is grey.

Check your ports first

Your USB C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video output. The connected charger and device determine the actual wattage delivered up to the 240W maximum. Data speed reaches 40Gbps only when both host and peripheral support that rate. The cable is backward compatible with USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 devices.

When the upgrade makes sense

This cable replaces older Thunderbolt or USB C leads limited to 60W or 100W charging and lower data rates. The jump is worth it when you need 240W charging for a high-power laptop or 40Gbps throughput for fast storage. Buyers who only need basic charging or 4K video on a single monitor will not use the extra headroom.

Questions about this item

Does the 4-foot grey cable ship with any adapters or must I buy them separately?

The cable has USB-C male connectors on both ends and is sold as a single unit; no adapters are included.

Should I choose this 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 4 cable or a slower USB-C cable for my MacBook Pro?

Pick this cable when you need 40 Gbps data, 240 W charging or 8K 60 Hz video; a standard USB-C cable will not deliver those speeds or power.

Will I actually see 40 Gbps transfer rates when the cable is plugged into my laptop and SSD?

You will reach 40 Gbps only if both the host port and the storage device support that speed; otherwise the link falls back to the highest rate both ends can handle.
