Dual monitor Thunderbolt 3 dock

The Jansicotek BXS13IN1 is a 13-in-1 docking station that adds dual video outputs, wired networking, card readers, audio and multiple USB ports to a single Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C connection. It supports MacBook Pro models from 2016 through 2020, MacBook Air 2018 and 2019, 12-inch MacBook 2015 and 2016, iMac and iMac Pro 2017 to 2019, plus Microsoft Surface Book 2, Surface Go and Google Chromebook devices. The silver aluminium enclosure measures 8.23 by 3.82 by 1.06 inches and weighs 10 ounces.

Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth and display limits

Thunderbolt 3 carries both data and video over one cable, so the dock can drive an HDMI monitor at 3840 by 2160 at 30 Hz or 1080p at 60 Hz while simultaneously providing a VGA output at 1080p. The single upstream link also caps the combined throughput of the three USB 3.0 ports, two USB-C 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one USB-C 2.0 port and the 100 Mbps Ethernet adapter to the available Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth. Power delivery is limited to 100 W for host charging.

100 W power delivery decides suitability

The dock supplies up to 100 W of USB-C Power Delivery to the connected notebook, which determines whether it can keep a high-performance laptop charged under load. Buyers whose machines require more than 100 W or that lack a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port with video and PD support will need a different solution. Wireless charging is offered at 5 W, 7.5 W or 10 W for compatible phones.
