8K DisplayPort Cable for High-Resolution Displays

This Jansicotek DP8KA1 cable connects a DisplayPort 1.4 source to a DisplayPort 1.4 display. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz. The 6.6 ft length suits typical desktop monitor-to-PC setups. It is built for users who need high bandwidth without signal loss.

Bandwidth and Resolution Limits

The cable is rated for HBR10 bandwidth up to 32.4 Gbit/s. It carries 8K at 60 Hz or 30 Hz, 5K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, and 2K at 240 Hz. Lower resolutions such as 1080p run at up to 240 Hz. Dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.2 are supported. It does not exceed the DisplayPort 1.4 specification ceiling.

Triple-Shielded Construction with Gold Connectors

A 28 AWG solid copper conductor is wrapped in triple tin shielding and a double-braided nylon jacket. Gold-plated male connectors resist corrosion and ensure a firm lock. The male-to-male design fits standard DisplayPort ports on graphics cards, monitors, laptops and projectors. It is not suited for installations requiring angled or low-profile plugs.

Questions about this item

Is the 6.6 ft length suitable for a typical desk setup?

The cable measures 6.6 ft, which is long enough to reach a monitor from a tower placed on the floor or a laptop on a stand without excess slack.

What resolution and refresh rate can I actually run with the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth?

The 32.4 Gbps HBR10 rating supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, or 2K at 240 Hz, provided your graphics card and monitor also support those modes.

Does the DisplayPort 1.4 connection limit me to lower specs than the 2.1 label suggests?

The connectors are DisplayPort 1.4, but the cable is built to HBR10 (32.4 Gbps), so it delivers the full 8K 60 Hz, 4K 144 Hz and 2K 240 Hz performance when both source and display support that bandwidth.
