HDMI to AHD Conversion

The Jansicotek converter translates an HDMI source into an AHD signal for direct connection to CCTV recorders. It accepts standard-definition and high-definition HDMI inputs up to 1080p at 60 Hz. Two AHD outputs provide a local monitor feed and a long-range loopout for the recorder. The unit ships with a 5 V power adapter and a user manual.

720p and 1080p Output Headroom

AHD output is fixed at 720p or 1080p at 30 Hz, matching typical DVR and NVR recording formats. The HDMI input supports 480i, 576i, 720p at 50 or 60 Hz, 1080i at 50 or 60 Hz, and 1080p at 25, 30, 50 or 60 Hz. Signals above 1080p or frame rates beyond 60 Hz are not processed and will not display.

HDMI 1.4 and 500 Metre Repeater Limit

The adapter follows the HDMI 1.4 standard with HDCP 1.2 and CEC support. Its built-in repeater extends the AHD loopout up to 500 metres, though the supplier notes a range of 500 to 700 metres depending on the chosen resolution. Runs beyond this distance or cables without adequate shielding will lose signal integrity. The converter does not support newer HDMI versions or higher bandwidth formats.

The HDMI input accepts 1080p60 but the AHD outputs are limited to 1080P@30Hz so the frame rate will be halved.
